WHY A MEDIUM-SIZED FIRM?

  • Exposure to the bigger picture of audit and accounting, you get to perform all sections and you also get the opportunity to complete an entire audit from start to finish.

HOW DOES THE FIRM ASSIST IN ENSURING I FINISH MY CA ROUTE?

WHAT IS THE CULTURE IN THE OFFICE?
  • This is a very difficult topic to explain as it is something that is not physical, but rather a feeling.
  • We have a large diversity of people from many different backgrounds.
  • We have an “Openness” culture where transparency and honesty is key.
  • The firm has an open door policy and promotes respect from the bottom up and top down.
DO YOU PROVIDE MENTORING?
  • For the duration of your articles, you will be allocated a personal mentor. They will assist and guide you through your articles. A mentor is someone that has been through articles and is able to assist you based on their experience.
  • You will, at the very least, have a monthly meeting with your mentor. In this meeting your mentor will assess your development, discuss challenges that you may be facing, come up with solutions and guide you on your CA(SA) journey.
  • You will be able to arrange one on one meetings as and when you desire. Your mentor will report to the partners whether you are on track with your development, how to deal with any shortcomings that you may be experiencing and how is your overall article experience going. Any suggestions for improvements may also be brought to the attention of the partners.
  • Further, a 6 monthly meeting will be held with your mentor and partner allocated to you. Your development is compared to a well-developed developmental plan. This is to ensure that you are on track with regards to your development and on track to complete your articles in a 3-year period.
DO YOU OFFER VAC WORK?
  • We do offer VAC work.
  • VAC work usually takes place during varsity holidays, therefore, ensuring that it is made available when it is most convenient for you.
  • However, as a result of Covid-19 we do have some restrictions with regards to VAC work.
WHAT ARE THE OPPORTUNITIES AFTER MY ARTICLES?
  • All our partners started out as a trainee at Tuffias Sandberg.
  • The firm does retain some staff after their articles. This retention is based on a few factors such as ability of the trainee and the number of positions available post articles.
  • The partners have also placed staff at clients, this is a good reflection that they believe their trainees are well trained and able to perform their job.
